Why proper grammar is best

Is proper grammar really that important? Well in order to answer that question, we must first define what proper grammar is. One definition states proper grammar or 'prescribed' grammar as it's also called is: a set of "rules" governing the use of a language; basically it tells the speaker what to say and how to say it. It can also be called "standard English." But to answer the question, yes proper grammar is important because it gives speakers and writers the ability to communicate clearly and appear more intelligent.

  1. I agree, As a child I had to take ettiquite classes. My aunt wanted me to know that is was very important as a black woman to carry and speak with mannerism. Kids and young adults today have no respect for each other or let alond our elders. They are so worried about pleasing others and what other people have that they do not focus on their own self improvement. It's almost discouraging...people need to think before they react let alone, thing before they speak.
